Attivo Networks CTO Tony Cole will present a session titled, Deception Technology: Luxury Item or Life Line?, which will overview deception technology and how deploying decoys throughout your environment can strengthen all the levels in a security stack, limitations of Defense in Depth strategies and the economics of defense and how to craft a business case. Additionally, Cole will share why high-fidelity deception decoys are indistinguishable from the real thing, even to advanced attackers.
Attivo may well be the best deception solution on the market today. The military has embraced deception as part of an active defense for decades. Early detection is an important part of the equation, however to outmaneuver attackers an organization must also be able to understand the adversary, and apply countermeasures to deter and stop attacks. Attivo brings not only the ability to detect an attack early, but also an environment to extract threat intelligence from attacker engagement in order to reduce time to remediation and to fortify defenses.
Staying on the topic of savvy hires, Attivo Networks scored this week when it named Tony Cole, previously global government CTO at security tech developer FireEye, as its own new CTO. Attivo, a developer of deception-based cyber threat detection systems, looks to boost its presence in the government, financial services, and oil and gas vertical markets. Attivo brought Cole on board to help the company differentiate its security platform from competitors in the market. His task will be similar to the job he performed at FireEye, where he oversaw strategy and played a role in shaping the company’s product portfolio, and its sales and marketing strategies.
