There was an explosion in new strains of malware in the first six months of 2015, according to security researchers at G DATA. They recorded a 64.8 percent increase in new malware strains for the first half of 2015 compared to the first six months of 2014. It works out to an average of 12 new strains being created every minute. With the US, China and France being hosts to the most malicious and fraudulent websites, the total number of malware strains this year is expected to be far in excess of the 2014 total.
