Attivo Networks Tightens Detection Net on Attacker Lateral Movement

Company’s Innovations in Deception Technology Lock Down Endpoints, So Attackers Can’t Advance Fremont, CA, July 30, 2019 – Attivo Networks®, the award-winning leader in deception for cybersecurity threat detection, today announced significant portfolio enhancements that effectively lock down the endpoint so that attackers cannot advance their attacks. These innovations include securing Active Directory and the ability to turn every endpoint into a network decoy.

How security teams are turning to decoy networks

Some of the greatest survivors in nature are those that fool predators in order to derail their attack. This allows them to realise the threat and make their escape or fight back. Take, for instance, the juvenile Damselfish. When threatened by predators, this marine marvel shrinks its eyes and grows a large spot on its tail to look like an eye. Having such a decoy deceives anything wishing to dine on the Damselfish into attacking the tail rather than the head. The fish can then swim off to safety while at the same time circumventing its demise. Similar forms of cunningness can also be seen with butterfly fish, octopus, chameleons, and tree frogs, which are all adept at using various forms of camouflage as a defense against predators.

Attivo Networks® Achieves Certified Integration with DXL through the McAfee Security Innovation Alliance

Attivo Networks® today announced that it has achieved technical integration of the ThreatDefend™ Deception and Response platform with McAfee Data Exchange Layer (DXL). Through this partnership, Attivo Networks and McAfee address a rising need to close in-network detection gaps, shorten incident response times, and quickly and easily remediate compromised systems, leading to a simplified Threat Defense Lifecycle. This latest integration complements existing certifications with McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, McAfee Enterprise Security Manager, and McAfee Network Security Platform.
